Ankylosaurus had a low-slung, tank-like body covered in thick, bony plates called osteoderms. These plates acted as armor, providing protection from predators. It also had rows of large, bony knobs along its sides. The most famous feature of Ankylosaurus is its tail club, a large, bony mass at the end of its tail that could be used as a weapon. Ankylosaurus was a large dinosaur, with an estimated length of up to 30 feet (9 meters) and a weight of around 4-6 tons. Like other ankylosaurids, it was a herbivore, primarily feeding on low-lying plants and vegetation. Ankylosaurus is thought to have been a slow-moving, quadrupedal dinosaur. Its heavily armored body would have made it a less attractive target for predators.
